Web design - examples of our work

The following are a few examples from the broad range of projects we have tackled. Some are surprisingly different, as the use of a graphically rich environment, full multimedia and a simple point and click interface means that a lot can be achieved.

Ecommerce
This web site is for a company selling delicatessen goods. They already own a physical shop, but wanted a virtual shop in addition. Maison Chaplais is a hidden gem of a delicatessen. The shop in Cheltenham is the place to go for fine foods, with vast choices of niche products that you won’t find in the supermarket.

Now the new website means that you can indulge your taste buds, even if you can’t get to the shop. We designed the site and photographed all the products. Mmm tasty!

Holiday home
Amberley Bakery is a wonderful English stone cottage, located in the Cotswolds. It was converted from the old bakery, in the village of Amberley and is offered for rental as a holiday home. We provided the web site to promote the cottage, with a built-in calendar to show prices and availability.

Wind turbines
This web site is for a company selling wind turbines to small companies, schools, community centres and those home owners with sufficiently large gardens. The turbines are large enough to enable owners to sell electricity back to the grid, but small enough to fit in a small site. There is a wealth of information on installing and running turbines, and there is a database available to calculate the available wind power at a given site.

Dartmoor and Princetown
This web site describes the history of Dartmoor, in terms of the geology of the area. There is a second web site that tells the story of Princetown and Dartmoor prison. The project was originally an Hypercard application, running on Apple Macintosh computers. We ported the application to use HTML and JavaScript and managed to replicate the full functionality of the original. We also provided full Internet access to the visitor's centre hosting these sites.

Our sister company, Xor Systems, provided the beautiful flat screen displays that display this web site and they are some of the most attractive screens we have seen.

The screens were designed to blend in well with the surrounding exhibits and contain natural materials such as granite, glass and wood.

Graphics design
We have recently completed the design of a web site for a local company workings in graphics design, specialising in the area of corporate identity. They produce brochures, logos, annual reports etc. for a wide range of companies. Xor provided a web site to act as a portfolio of the company's expertise.

This site is changed at frequent intervals, as the company produces a large number of photographic images.

Paths, patios and driveways
We provided a web site to promote this company's range of cobbled concrete products. The site was designed to match their existing brochure and used many of the images, with further images taken specifically for the site. The site is promoted heavily through local directory services.

Electronics design
We provided a web site to promote this company's range of electronics products.

Puppeteer
We worked with this company writing embedded software for their unique range of embedded computers. They asked us to design a web site to help promote the product and to provide technical support. This site has a strong emphasis on showing how and where the product has been used, so we have an ongoing relationship to add more projects as they are completed.

Wine Web-site design
We have designed a web-site to sell wine over the Internet. The novelty in this site is the ability to readily update the online catalogue of wines available. This was kept simple to enable the owners of the site to change the wines on offer quickly and easily. We went for a particularly graphical look, which we were very pleased with. The client was using competitive bidding and, in the end, rejected our design - but we like it, so we include it here.
